 Interested in joining our team?

If you are interested in joining us, please share your resume/CV, your research interests and skills, and why you are interested in joining our group. Our team includes Ph.D. and undergraduate students and post-doctoral scholars.

Ph.D Students:

I take PhD students through program Environment and Society in the Department of Environmental Sciences at Emory University. Applications open each year and close in December. Please reach out if you are interested in applying under my mentorship. Internal funding varies by year but students can also be funded through external grants.

Dr. Mucioki's PhD students work with the Environment, Culture, and Community research group and work within the broad research topics that we focus on. Student work usually includes a large component of experiential learning and doing through time in the field and in community. Indigenous students and students who are seriously dedicated to allyship and community-based approaches and solutions are very strongly encouraged to apply.

We work in connection with the Native American and Indigenous Studies Initiative at Emory and the prospective students work could also be connected to this group. https://native.emory.edu

Undergraduate students:

We are HIRING! Undergraduate RA with skills in ArcGIS, applications due Nov. 24th, position starts Jan. 2026

I take on undergraduate research assistances through competitive application when positions are available. They are advertised through the ENVS department and my website.

I am happy to mentor undergraduate student research projects or directed reading as time allows each semester. To be ready for this work, most students need to have taken my courses or engage with me as an RA.

Post-doctoral scholars:

There are no funded positions currently but there will likely be in the future. I am happy to chat with you about future options and strategic ways to join our team.
